I happened upon this little beetle while shooting some scenery. Camera, Minolta SRT Super, Lens, Minolta Celtic Macro Zoom @f 1.2, Fuji Film Pro 100.

I saw it and liked it Randy but I've only been on the 'puter for a very limited time in the last 3 days so not much time for comments. Should be slowing down now for a bit so more time for forums. Any idea what sort of bug this is? Note to self, gotta actually buy a macro lens one of these days instead of too many more of the same lenses.

Randy,
I saw it. I was expecting a Volkswagen. He is kind of cute as beetles go.

Nice shot - great lens Randy. Must look out for one!
Excellent shot of the beetle. Try sending a picture to your Natural History Museum. They will probably identify it for you. Ours sends you advice a couple of times but then starts asking for $100 donations... I find I don't need to know that badly! But local clubs will often help.
Regards - John
