Dear fellow camera collectors, I would like to show You some of my December photographs. Taken a week before Christmas, when visiting a Christmas market (mainly selling Gluehwein, i.e. mulled wine ;-) ). I had planned to take a few photographs of Ueberlingen, but I had a 24mm lens on the camera rather than the 1.2/50, which I thought I had. So there are no city photographs, but this piece of gras in the last light of the day. Over christmas we had a lot of high fog - but I managed to get over the fog a few days before Christmas, and took this one: It was taken using a MC Rokkor-PG 1.4/50, one of my favourite lenses. I am sorry there is too much traffic in the air ... but better this picture than nothing at all. The last for today was taken around the same time - on one of the few December days the high fog broke up. I concentrated on the sunlit spots on the lake. There was a bit of wind, which went away the day after. The fog came back... but I had this photograph. Taken with a MC Rokkor 2.8/135. This is another favourite lens of mine. Hope You like it! & Best regards Peter Btw.: I find this blue color way to bold as background for posted photographs. Maybe there is a way to turn this into a more neutral color...

Hi Peter,
So you were drinking Gluehwein - I was drinking Gluehbier.... Had the same effect!
Lovely photographs - particularly like the last.
Regards - John

Peter
Very nice indeed. I would have been proud to have taken them myself. The last one is so moody.

Dear John,
I did drink a Weizenbier - I love to drink wine, but I hate Gluehwein, since it is way too sweet for my taste. But of course - You are right - the effect is the same :-P
Dear Bob,
I am very lucky on the last. It is one of my best photographs so far.
Best regards Peter

Peter, I also think the last picture is great. It radiates a somewhat dark mood that is riveting. I really like it. The first image of the grass is also moody but in a brighter way. I like it too.

... got another one out of the scanner ... Btw.: I made a substantial progress in my scanning efforts. I bought a color card and a grey scale from Fotowand. The first exposure shows the color card and the gray scale - I did correct this, and apply the correction to the normal photos. Oh it is so nice to work with good tools...

Peter: I really like the second and third shots from the original posting. I think that jet contrail adds just the right touch of interest, turning it from just another sunset/sunrise to a really nice image.
And that cloud/water shot is spectacular! One of those I wish I could say I had taken myself. Well done!

Dear Herron,
Yes I am also very happy with the light spots over water picture - it is however awkward w.r.t. downscaling. The impression of blurriness on the foreground is an artifact, I could not get rid of. Increasing sharpening results in an oversharpened center. The 5500x3600 pixel version looks great however :-)
And Thank You for the encouraging words - as I am still a very young photographer seeking to learn that art (and craft).
Best regards Peter

Wonderful photos Peter, you'll notice the blue is gone. By the way, I brew my own Weisenbier.

Dear Randy,
Thank You! Both for the compliment and for changing the colors. Especially the last picture looks a lot better on the grey background!
Interesting what You brew! I would however suggest, that You decide whether it is labeled as Weizenbeir or as Weissbier. Both is the same, the latter denomination will however be used in Bavaria only (only in the Southern parts of Bavaria to be exact). But that should end my German nit picking for today ;-)
Best regards Peter
PS: my preferred Weissbier (You notice, I lived for a certain period in Munich!) brands are Weihenstephaner, Fürstenberg, Schneider, Maisel, Hopf... there are numerous good ones from small breweries, too.

They're all wonderful shots Peter, especially the last one of the three.
From what I've seen of your images so far, you've got it pretty much sorted.
