Photos were shot Jan. 20 in Boise, Idaho when 25,000 people turned out (Temp. 30 F.) To honor the players on the Boise State football team. On Jan. 1 the Broncos upset favored Oklahoma in what is being called one of the most exciting college football games ever played. Boise State was the only undefeated Division 1A football team in the nation in 2006. Photos shot with a Nikon F4, 35-135mm and 20mm Nikkor lenses. Kodak 400 VC film. (the free film samples Kodak sent). Players autograph items thrown from the crowd as the parade approaches the Idaho Statehouse. For those familiar with the team the player standing apart from the rest at right is quarterback Jared Zabransky. A portion of the crowd of fans that followed the parade down Capitol Boulevard to the Statehouse. Boise State team members on the Capitol steps during the program honoring them and their coaches. Crowd celebrates. shot with 20mm Nikkor.

It's fun to be a part of happy festivities! Thanks for sharing some neat shots, Wayne. Looks like you were having a great time, too (and the weather was cooperating)!

Ron:
It was a little on the chilly side after about three hours. I'm really impressed with that Portra VC film. First time I had shot it and it really has some snap to it. Thanks to Kodak for the free samples.
The big problem was shooting south in the direction from which the parade was coming. This time of year the sun doesn't get very high so backlighting and flare were concerns. Fortunately I had a hood for the zoom that helped a little.

Great to see all the fans wearing the colours Wayne. The balloons are brilliant! Yes the film set it off very nicely, without being garish. Good shots!

Yep. I was at the parade. Only wish I had been at the Fiesta Bowl. I have friends who attended who still can't talk about the finish to the game without getting emotionally choked up (in a good way).
I shot regular Portra on Maui a few years back for our daughters wedding picture but also shot some scenics with it and was very pleased with the results. I had never tried the Portra VC--thought the colors might be unrealistic--but used it on the parade because I wanted to make sure the orange and blue colors would snap. I don't think they came out unaturally bright.

Wayne, Great shots of a joyous, colourful event. I thought it was going to be about potatoes. Mickey

Mickey: Taters were what the Oklahoma football team thought Idaho was all about, too. Now they know differently.
