Hi Randy. No this is just one of the normal bunch of freeloaders by the boat landing jetties at Bowness-on-Windermere in our Lake District. Remember all the trouble that the warden had with Yogi Bear and all those 'picanic' baskets? Same thing here except that we don't need to ship them 500 miles away to stop them doing it! In this country, all swans (with the exception of a small number on the River Thames), belong to the Crown - and are therefore protected from hunters. a) It's hard to stick one underneath your coat without somebody noticing and b) being charged with treason is a good deterrent (only joking on the last bit!)
