Shot with a Minolta XE-7 and a MCx Rokkor 28 f2.8 lens, with Fuji Superia 400 processed at Shoppers Drug Mart on Cornwall Drive at Trafalgar Rd.

Where is that Bill? We've got a breakwall here across Lake Erie on the southern shore. Cosina C1 on crappy film with crappy developing scanned on a crappy scanner.

Beakwalls that stick out into the water are usualy called breakwaters or groynes or, less commonly, moles in the UK.

Ok, breakwall is the wrong terminology. Gairloch Gardens where this shot was taken is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario in Oakville On. roughly a ten minute walk from my house.
The wall it self is a mixture of stone and cement.

In my part of Ontario, and I admit we talk funny over here,
A breakwall was a wall along and attached to the shoreline embankment to halt erosion.
A breakwater was a wall, generally in a lake, that projected well above the water's surface and that ran parallel to and a fair distance from the shoreline to prevent waves from breaking on the shore and eroding the land.
Along the shore of Lake Ontario, at Sunnyside, there is a concrete breakwater. As teenagers we used to swim out to it to demonstrate our prowess. The lifeguards were not very appreciative. The spoilsports would always yell at us.
