Some frightening pictures from the recent autumn fair in Harjavalta. A pony may boot She could hit with a sledgehammer.

Interesting to have blacksmith at what looks like a traveling fair. I think some of the traveling shows over here would have many restrictions on setting up a display that posed a fire danger. Although that fire looks fairly small.
When I was a kid, I used to help my grandfather make horseshoes (and other assorted metal hardware for around the farm). I didn't do the "blacksmith" stuff, hammering and shaping...I helped by pulling on the bellows to blow air into his kiln.
Now that was a fire!

Did he take the saddle off before he barbequed the horse?

Wayne, you're thinking of people and lizards... (Or did people taste like pork?).
Whatever - horse doesn't taste like chicken. It tastes like beef. Tried it by mistake in Spain. I could translate the menu item - Peppered Steak. But I missed the page heading - Horse. Doesn't taste bad, but.... you know!

My only experience with eating horse meat was in Germany at my Uncle's. We were having lunch of sausages, how unusual, and I knew it was horse meat. My poor wife who is a tree hugger, bless her, and was never a fan of sausages asked what it was. I told her and she gamely attempted to eat it but every time she attempted to take the first bite I whinnied like a horse which, while amusing to all, I never heard the end of. The sausage was very good though. Sorry for the OT.

Super pictures Reijo. When I see these instruments being played I always think they look as if they are playing typewriters
