Had my Canon 300D in the car as I drove home from work yestereday...got a few shots in the rain! 
Traffic was all snarled up, the rain was really coming down, and out of the blue (or was that the grey..there were no blue skies yesterday) this poor guy came jaywalking in the middle of everything. Fortunately, everyone was at a dead stop anyway.
Shot this through the windshield...waiting until the wiper blade had cleared!
This one too. Just ahead is the Gem Theatre (you can almost make out the sign just to the left of the "Dr Pepper" truck). About a block more, and this road passes right between Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers baseball team) and Ford Field (home of the Detroit Lions football team).
These pipes were several more blocks north of the two stadiums, in an area that was once nice (about 1920) but had fallen on hard times (for the past 30 years). It is going through a revitalization now, with old slum buildings razed, and the ones that are salvagable being renovated. New condos are going up too, an encouraging sign.
It was REALLY raining by this time, I rolled down the side window to get this shot, and immediately wondered why...I got soaked. But I liked the shot for some reason...so I thought it was worth it.
