I like the Boats in the Marina shot Gene. When I first looked at it I thought for a moment that you'd done a crafty left-right flip montage. Nicely chosen viewpoint.

I can't wait to see the ocean again... I've been landlocked here in Denver for nearly a year and it is driving me CRAZY!!! I will be diving the Great Barrier Reef this time next month, so I shouldn't complain!
Nice shots Gene & John!

John, those are great shots. They're all much larger craft than I generally see on Lake Ontario (except for the big ore-hauling lake freighters).

I would love to dive the reef, well snorkel it. I have a Canon AS-6 that is a great little snorkelling/shallow dive/swimming camera. Waterproof to 10 meters and mine has all the atatchments. I actually have 2 of them, one is non working and the other works great. My original one (non working) came with all the attatchments in a box of miscelaneous photography gear, including 2 Super Takamur lenses (55 1.8 and 50 1.4) for less than $40 AUD. I replaced the body with one I bought from a guy in San Diego for around $100 AUD, which is a bargain, considering the full kit has sold for over $250 AUD here. NIce little performer too. Heath

Great shots Gene, some cool reflections. We live 45 min. from the coast so we go a lot along the Washingtion and Oregon coast. We actually moved here from Spokane last year to be closer to the ocean, as crazy as that sounds.

All those sailing yachts (schooner in John's case) and not a sail on any of them! Nice photographs though.
Nice to see you again Steve - no new avatar for the occasion? !!
Regards - John

I lived in Eugene, OR for a summer and couldn't get to the Oregon coast often enough. The coast is so wonderfully rugged and scenic in the Northwest. I too like living near to large bodies of water. I'm truly spoiled, living in walking distance to our local harbour. Gene

Heath Hey Heath, No, I hadn't really thought about taking a submersible camera... I usually just pick up one of the disposables in a casing for snorkelling snapshots... Mine never turn out any good anyway and I get disapointed that I missed exploring further because I was busy trying to take pictures. Underwater photography is hard!!! I have immense respect for those who master it! Gear that is safe to take down when you dive is quite expensive as well! Cheers! Peter
