The other day it was cold and wet here in Sydney. What can I say, it is Winter after all. When I was out working I got the chance to take a few frames with my EOS 300D when I noticed the waterdrops from an early morning cloudburst. Camera: Canon EOS 300D Lens: Promaster 28-80mm These roses really caught my eye. I like the way the drops are clinging to this thin branch. Thanks for looking. Heath

Heath: Gotta admit, the branch didn't do much for me... ...but the roses are magnificent. Nice shot!

Wish I could make roses grow in winter. Must be sticking to the seasons they came from I suppose.
Nice - I like raindrops or dew as a focal point. I was taking pictures of our clematis just after watering last night. Will post if there's anything memorable.
Regards - John

Hi Heath,
I too like the roses shot. There's something refreshing about raindrops on flowers, you can almost smell the freshness in the air.
Unlike Ron Herron (sorry Ron) I also like the raindrops on the branches. The lighting makes them look like rows of little transparent bugs crawling along the underside of the twigs. Fascinating, as Mr. Spock would say with a lifted eyebrow.
And - dare I say it? Lovely neutral bokeh! A perfect backdrop.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I like the way water beads on plants too. This was the first time that I successfully captured an image of it.

Heath / Peter: I certainly didn't mean to imply the branch shot wasn't good...or even that I didn't like it on some level...it's just that it wasn't my cup-of-tea. I might have preferred to get in even tighter, and focus on just a few of the water drops. Heath's rose shot, on the other hand, IMHO is perfect.... I've posted similar images here before myself (like the one repeated below), and I really like the overall effect of the soft light on a cloudy day, and water on the plants!

Might have been cold and windy, but you sure kept the roses from swaying. Any pic capturing water drops is always appealing to me.
At times though I have had to resort to the spray bottle of water.

I enjoyed both of these, Heath. Water drops on roses always get me, but I like the branches shot too.
