Very nice shot, with lots of bokeh. Wow, that's the first time I've used that word!

Rick, how do you like the DReb compared with your other digi's? We have one (actually my wife's) and a Nikon D70. The Rebel doesn't key up as fast as the Nikon, but the glass is really sharp.

Well, I think the bokeh folkies would say it's bokeh all right, but not the good kind... Gene

Gene, I have never seen it come out like this. I don't know what happened. The lens is normally very smooth. Walker. I have the Vivitar in FD mount and it is a dream and very sharp. The DReb does not compare to a 30D or the 1DMKII but the price doesn't either. we are talking about a camera, that in film version, sells for less than $200 with lens. Bit it is fun. The newer versions address some of the problems such as the startup time in the XT and the new XTi is a 10MP sensor but they are both smaller and the DReb is already much smaller than my T90 or A2 and I have hands large enogh to palm a basketball!

Rick, if I hadn't bought the Pentax *ist-DS, I'd have gotten the new DReb which I think is a very nice camera. I'm hearing that Pentax and Samsung have teamed to make a new Pentax digital camera that will be cutting-edge when released in the not too distant future. I'm sure it will be beyong my meager means but it sounds interesting. Maybe some day they will feature a plate that will make all of the old M42 lenses automatic on a digital. Now that would be something to write home about.

Walker, when I bought my first DReb, spring '04, I really wanted a *ist as I had quite a few K mount lenses but not one EF mount Canon. The price was just to prohibitive at the time. I still wish I had gotten it instead of selling my LX and ME super along with all those SMC lenses

Bokeh/Shmokeh.
Rick - I think the first just has too much going on. Probably one for your black velvet background behind the first blossom. The second is class, dead leaf and vibrantly live leaf offset each other beautifully. Well done.
Regards - John
