This road leads up to the rebuilt Mount locust inn built along the Natchez trace around 1830. Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie, Meriwether Lewis( Of Lewis and Clark) and many other unknowns found shelter and food here Unfortunately the Inn was closed by the time I got there. If you would like to see more from my trip go here www.flickr.com/photos/bayou_photography/and to read about the local history and see more go here byuphoto.blogspot.com/I will be updating the blog and I have some 35mm and 120 MF to develop and scan. I spent 7 hours traveled 150 miles and shot 98 photos

Rick: I don't know if it's you or GeneW that causes me to slap the side of my head more and say "why didn't I take that picture?" Another nice image, my friend...very nice.

Rick, you've totally captured the feel of that slightly hazy, golden autumn sunlight. Beautiful! Which cam did you use for this one (it doesn't really matter, but the gearhead in me is asking) Gene

Nice photo Rick, Louisiana has a mystical look that always gave me the feeling of enchantment when I was there. (used to drive truck) There were places that looked inviting yet at the same time not welcoming. I haven't been there since the early 1970s.

Lovely photo. It sure sets a mood. I just had a look at your Natchez trace section on flicker and can see why you took 7 hours to cover 150 miles.

Thanks all. I am honored to be counted with Gene. Yes La. has some beautiful places but this is actually in Miss. I used the Dreb with various lenses This was the Canon 70-210 f4 at 70mm

Nice job Rick. This has that calming "Down South" feeling to it, only two things remind me every time, magnolias/antebellum mansions and tree lined lanes with old fences.
