I wanted to share this shot of fleeting beauty with you... Sobralia flowers generally only last one day, so by this afternoon it will have wilted. Enjoy! Rollei dt4000 Peter

Absolutely beautiful Peter. The text reminds me of the movie "Dennis the Menace" where Mr. Wilson waits years for his orchid to flower, then misses it and only gets to see the wilted remains, due of course to good ol' Dennis.

Your macro shot is tack sharp right where it needs to be.
Beautiful, Peter.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I took a couple of film shots as well to finish up a roll of Kodak Gold 100... I'll post again if any turn out.

That DOF is probably the most tightly controlled I've seen for a long time.
BWD!

Excellent. The DOF is one reason I use the little Canon G2 for a lot of macro, that and the swivel LCD old limbs do not bend like they used to

A most beautiful representation of nature at its best. But only one day!? Gosh! Glad you photographed it and shared it with us.

Thanks again! I'm glad you enjoyed it! By 6pm last night the flower had all but closed & this morning the browning remains are all that is left...
