This has been a tough period. Just as the foliage was getting pretty, a lengthy overcast, rainy period set in that has made taking photos of the autumn colours rather difficult. At the same time I picked up a bad cold that turned into a sinus infection and kept me in the cabin most of the time with low energy. However, I did get out one day with my digicam and here are some of the shots. Today I'm heading out with my Nikons and some E6 and C41 film. View from our kitchen window: The front of our house: Some maple leaves seen on my walk: Willow leaves on a park walkway: Staghorn sumac (during a light rain): Mums (touched up a bit in Photoshop) Canon S3 IS Gene

Gene, as usual you've posted some outstanding images. The last four, in particular, stand alone as fine pictures. Beautiful colors!
Do you recall the focal length used for the shot from your kitchen window? It appears to have been a full-frame fisheye or very short focal length. Nice effect.

Thanks Walker. The window shot was at max WA on my digicam, which makes it 35mm equiv, but with greater DOF.

Gene - You are a master of the available!
I try to do the same - look for the interesting wherever I happen to be and shoot it. But hats off - you are the master!
Regards - John

Gene: You keep doing it! Showing us great images, as if you never take anything else (you do, don't you...my faith in my own photographic eye is at stake here).... LOL!! ;D Nice shots...and it's good to see someone else hasn't yet raked his leaves. I don't feel so bad about my own procrastination.

Gene
The hits just keep on coming, another well done. I particularly like the shot from your kitchen window, makes me think I am there looking out. Would be interesting as real wallpaper. I just can't see things the way you do but I keep trying. Gotta work on my vision among other things.

Thanks everyone. You're kinder than you need be.
Well, I didn't get out with my Nikons today as planned. Still feeling a bit too draggy from the sinus infection + antibiotics. Maybe tomorrow.

Gene What wonderful photos. For me a really good photo is one that makes me think "gosh I wish I had taken that" and #1 #3 #5 do that for me, I know jealousy is a terrible thing but I think I will be forgiven this time lol.
Once again your photos are really great.
Jenny.

Thanks Jenny. When the autumn colours get vibrant it's difficult to take a bad shot Gene
