I had plans to travel out east for Christmas yesterday, but the snow we had here put a stop to that... Luckily I was able to change my flight & should still get to see friends for Christmas. I must admit it is very pretty here... I spent most of the morning with my neighbours digging out our cars in preperation for when we can get anywhere. Peter

One of those would have been nice Randy! The little kiddy shovel I was using to start with nearly didn't cut it... I thought I was done after the first go, but I saw another neighbour out there tonight & went back for two more cars. My arms are killing me!

Those pictures make me nostalgic Peter Phys.
Here we have fog. In 1963, an anticyclone froze the whole country solid for six weeks. Now we have the same weather pattern, and although the rain has stopped, temperatures are up and we just get fog. What's going on?
Regards - John

Beautiful. I love snow and I miss it. When it does come there is going to be a happy 74 year old making snow angels.

We've got London's Heathrow Airport shrounded in fog at the moment with flights delayed and long, long queues of people trying to get away for Christmas.
I hear John's got fog too, but here in our little corner of the south-east which sticks out below the Thames Eastuary the last week has been reasonably bright with hard frost in the mornings and occasionally just a very light shower or two in the day, but bitterly cold with a constant north-east wind about strength 3 coming down off the North Sea to add a chill factor - and my den is on the north-east side of the house. I think some-one up in Norway or Sweden left the gate open.
But I'm keeping warm with the heating going full blast and two pairs of shoe laces, staying indoors as much as possible. The Government coughs up a winter heating allowance for State pensioners, and I'm making good use of it.

Peter, that's a lot of snow! Beautiful. I wish we had some of it. Doesn't feel Christmassy at all here in Ontario. Mickey, I'll leave the snow angel thing for you, but I'll take the pics if you want. I'm afraid if I got down there in the snow I might not be able to get up again Gene

Mickey: If I only had to make snow angels and snowballs, I suppose I'd like winter again, too . . . except I'd probably be in the same boat as Gene . . . got down, but can't get up! Driving to work in it (40 miles each way) is a royal pain. I'm looking forward to the day I don't have to do that anymore! Peter . . . thanks for reminding me what I still have to look forward to this year. We always have a lot of snow, but it has skipped us so far this year . . . breaks me heart. Nah! It really doesn't! ;D
