After almost a month in mortal combat with a flu bug I was also suffering from cabin fever. Yesterday I busted out! I went wild with my Pentax K100D and shot 132 pictures. I started out just before 6 am and wandered the streets for about 4 hours. Temperature was about -16C. It felt sooo good. If the photos prove to be too boring there is always your "delete" key. Any and all criticism is always welcome. Now let's see if I remember how to do this. Gotta make up for lost time. Streetcar at corner of College and Bathurst Streets. Note Mars Foods sign has a picture of Saturn. Great breakfasts though. Urban Spider web. Detail Provincial Parliament Building. Berries Cultivated "wild" grasses. Edwards Gardens. Wilket Creek Park Mickey

Aaagh! Between yourself Mickey, and Gene and Rick, you keep blasting us with superb shots! The weather over here in the UK is pretty dismal. They had some snow in the southeast, and PeterW possibly jumped on his snowboard and grabbed some shots of his grandkids, but otherwise (I've got to finish that film in the Vivitar!), it's down to digital I'm afraid.
Unless Rachel or Jennie & Ernie can save the day!
Your shots are superb Mickey (except for the cranberries - ptuih!)
Regards - John

You've got some great shots here, Mickey. I'm partial to the street car shot just because I love seeing them and riding them.
But beyond the photos, I'm really glad to hear you're feeling better. Being housebound for a month with a nasty flu would cause me to go starkers. Glad you busted out!

Mickey! Great shots! Like Gene I'm partial to the street car, we don't have them here. Glad you are feeling better, I slipped and fell on the ice last week and I'm suffering like an injured rhino.

Great shots, especially the berries and all the frozen photos. Easy to say for a person that lives this far SOUTH

John, Gene, Randy, Rickey,
Thanks.
John. "...cranberries - ptuih!" Do you not know that without cranberry sauce a turkey is merely another dead bird? Maybe even a road kill. I guess it's a North American thing. Our aboriginal peoples used cranberries, dried meat, fat and most anything else edible, pounded together, to make a high energy, long lasting food called pemmican. It was invaluable to the voyageurs and couriers du bois and explorers and anyone else embarking on a long voyage by foot, horseback or canoe, without a refrigerator. It helped open up this country.
Gene and Randy. I shall make an effort to get some more TTC ( Toronto Transit Commission ) pics. I must admit I haven't been on the TTC, neither bus nor trolley bus nor streetcar nor subway since 1985. I suppose it's time. Randy, I hope injured rhinos make quick recoveries.
Rickey. I am partial to winter and cold. Everything seems so clean and fresh and invigorating.

Ron,
Yes, almost a month and I still have a slight cough and I still sleep too much. I know its only an old wives' tale but some doctors are strongly recommending chicken soup. I tried it and I am still here. You and Jeanneatte should give it a try. It might only be a placebo but it tastes good, especially with home made egg noodles.
For the first time this year I know what arthritis or, as Chief Lloyd Red Crow in one of the TV commercials calls it, Arthuritis is all about. My old bass fiddle from high school days still sits patiently in my living room. I can no longer hold the bow nor play pizzicato nor can I press the strings against the fingerboard. Fortunately for me I can still press a shutter release without any difficulty.
We do not have a lot of snow in Toronto but it is cold enough to stay on the ground. And it is definitely better for pictures and morale than drab brown and grey.
Bundle up when you do go out. A balaclava will slightly warm the air you inhale although you might stay away from banks if you wear one.
