I am taking my photography and my interest in a new direction I bought a 3" refractor telescope and am waiting for a equitorial mount and a webcam to do some planetary imaging. I am also waiting on an 8" Newtonian Reflector scope and camera adapter to do some deep space imaging. In the mean time I started taking a few images from the tripod. This view of Orion was with a Sigma 17-50 lens on the DReb. Exposure was f4 at 5 seconds and ISO 1600 The lens flare is from the almost full moon seen here No crop with a Sigma 400 f5.6

Are you going to get a C.C.D. for the deep space imaging?

I plan to start with some Piggyback shots at first. I will use a 50 and a 135mm lens. I will then try using the webcam for some planetary shots. Saturn is really visible here. Then I will try the deep space stuff with my DSLR or a film camera first Don't know if I will buy a CCD or no. Mostly want to try my camera stuff first

I could stand a little weight loss myself. Oh, who am I kidding...I could stand a lot of weight loss! But I don't hink my wife would appreciate a "new acquaintance" as the reason! LOL!!! ;D

Just a flattering shot. Still 6-1 and 265 so the "Aquaintance" is not working that much.
