Michelle/kids/myself have been spending some time in the local mountains scouting for waterfalls. Our photography habit has been providing some (much needed) togetherness for both of us. Sometimes I think I must be the luckiest guy in the world. Here's a few images... Steve Nikon D70, 18-70, f/16, 3sec Michelle (wife) and I Nikon D70, 18070, f/16, 1.3sec Nikon D70, 18-70, f/16, 1.5sec

Neat photos, Steve. I'm one of the "make the water look soft and silky and I like it" crowd. These are all good shots (although I suspect you have a preference for the second one ;D) Haven't seen you on the board in a while...nice to have you back!

Steve, hey how nice to see your work again. Is the D70 new or have you had it awhile? (I lose track of who has what)
I'm jealous of your 'local mountains'. It's not totally flat here, but my roots are in the west and I miss mountains.

Welcome back Steve!
Michelle looks so relaxed for the long(ish) exposure - you both did well. Not a sign of movement. You probably know my views on water flow - I'd rather see the action than the cream, but I enjoy well taken creamy shots too.
Regards - John

Thank you all for the kudos gents! It's great to be back, I missed this board. What can I say, my PC was down for a while and we're so backed up at work that I've been working 12+ hours per day 6-7 days a week since last fall. (and this is supposed to be the slow season in our industry) So, after I get home from work my eyes are bulging out of my head and the last thing on my mind is more computer time. LOL!
Gene, I've had the D70 for a couple of years now and it continues to impress me. But, Michelle now wants to "inherit" it so presently saving my "beans" for a D200 in the near future.

Nice work Steve and good to see you back again. Hope work eases off a bit so you can spend a bit more time with your family. Must be nice to have a spouse who shares your hobby. My wife took portraits for Sears for 12+ years so has no interest in going when I want to head out so I either go with Nikon Bob or by myself. At least she tolerates the cameras. I'm glad as I'd miss her if she didn't, LOL.

Despite your heavy work load you still have the energy to make splendid pictures. I suppose it's because you make your wife carry all the equipment. Handsome couple though.

Again, thank you all.
Curt: Like you, I'd also miss my wife if she couldn't tolerate my cameras. LOL! It is nice to share the hobby but it also has it's little hidden challenges. When we were both shooting film,(she shoots digital only now) her favorite trick was to throw her exposed film in my film bag to get processed. Somehow there would be several more rolls of film for me to pick up. So, in the 15 years we've been together she (to this day) hasn't paid for film processing. LOL!
Mickey & Ron: LOL! Michelle likes to carry her gear for a while but it eventually makes it's way to me. By the time we get back to the van, she's carrying her camera only, I'm carring 2 bags, 2 tripods, etc. LOL! She's quite clever!

I like shooting the soft water shots, but the first one above was really exposed for too long. (3 seconds) It seems they look better at about 1 - 1.5 sec.

Hi Steve, just want to say I like your pictures. Especially the rapids, the aquamarine blue of the water and the brown rocks go well together. Good family picture too!
