We've just had a 36hr blizzard and gale, and the forecast is there's more to come. The wind swept all the flat places clean and dumped the snow in front of the garage door: A chilly camelia: and snow and frost on windows: EOS 20D

Sid, wow! Now that's a snowstorm! The postman will have trouble ringing even once!

Sid - I love snow, I could freeze to death just watching it. We don't seem to have snow any more in my part of the country. If the global warming predictions are correct (the Gulf Stream collapsing), we may find ourselves living in an ice house!
Regards - John

Sidw You get the snow and what is lef is for us in the east. Weather forecast to night is calm but cold -30°C (-22F) John Before the Gulf Stream collapsing we might have to swim to the mountains. Only bad choices

Brings back memories of what we used to get. There is always room for a late season blizzard or two though. Still glad that you are having it and not us. Keep us posted on the second one if you get it.

I was going to post some pictures of this morning's surprise snowfall in Toronto. After seeing your accumulation I was too ashamed of our insignificant few flakes to show them.

Indeed we've had no newspaper or post today, nu dustbin emptied either. Just a passing snowplough that piled up masses of solid snow and ice across our entrance. Now we'll have to shovel it back out into the street again. No buses or trains either, but I hear the trains have been running again all evening.
Reisko, I think it's coming your way (if there's anything left of it). But it's not severely cold, around 0 to -5C. But it came after a couple of days with a hint of spring (5 to 8C, sunny, calm), snowdrops, eranthis and Christmas roses all out. But that's it here, winter and spring alternate until April.
The wind has dropped at least, and we've only had another cm of snow.

Just looking at these photos makes me want to brew up a gallon of hot coffee and curl up on the couch with a good photography book.
