As everyone else trudged to work in this morning's heavy snowfall, I went out to play in the snow (i.e. take their photographs). It was a heavy, wet snowfall that stuck to everything, and tried its best to stick to my camera lens. I took these with my oldest digicam, a Canon S45. A Walk Down the Street. One street over from mine Waiting for the BusRed Honda. I think it's a Honda under there Lighthouse in the SnowAcross the Bridge and into Starbucks... Cell-phone Photographer. I assume he was talking a pic. Funny place to talk... It was white and wintry, but very mild, calm, and fun! Well, fun if you weren't driving, that is. Gene

Very nice set of pics, Gene.
I like the touches of colour in what nature decreed should be a monochrome scene.
We've had a few hard frosts here in the south-east UK but no snow really - at least, none to speak of. My problem would be that I dare not venture out when it's icy unless I take the car. Walking with a stick I'd probably 'do a Ron' and do myself a nasty.
And to think I used to love ice skating - oh well.

I agree Gene, retirement is better... hopefully someday I'll discover this for myself It's snowed once since we moved here almost 2 years ago. But the rain! Living here in the northwest in the winter is like living in a car wash. (LOL)

PeterW -- "Do a Ron"? Maybe I should be flattered I've become a cultural icon! LOL! ;D ---------- Gene -- why is it you seem able to make a deserted street and a bus stop seem like magical places! And I really like that "Lighthouse in the Snow." What a spectacular shot! Must be the camera...I've seldom met anyone who has an eye that gifted! Your compositions, for the most part, are amazing! My hat's off to you once again!

Peter, Steve, Ron, thanks very much for looking and commenting. Ron, thanks for the very kind words, but it was the snow that made the places magical. All I did was record it. The only thing I credit myself with was knowing, when I saw the snow starting to come down like that around sunrise, that I needed to get out there with a camera, pronto! Glad I did because the snow tapered off by the time I reached Starbucks, at which time the best photography was over and it was java time. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it Gene

Curt - superb! I love the first especially. Number 4 reminds me of Reiska's copper plant from his back garden. (Which I had as 'wallpaper' for a week or two)
Ron - You've become a legend ! (Or was that 'leg-end') LOL
Regards - John

Blame it on the snow. But I've seen too many of your images to buy it! ;D Too many of your pictures have "the magic" even when it's not snowing outside...and that's not luck! Knowing how to anticipate when to be in the right place...at the right time...with just the right composition...face it, that's just good! My hat's off to you!

Once again I am awed by "the man with the eye". Not only are they lovely pictures but they capture the feeling of that very wintry morning. I have to thank you for showing me what I failed to see when I looked.

John, Ron Head, Ron Herron, Mickey, thanks.
Ron, glad to hear the limp and bruising are nearly gone.
Mickey, once it warms up a bit, let's grab another coffee at Balzacs!

Gene,
Balzac's always sounds good. There are a couple of other places in Muddy York worth seeing and immortalizing on film or pixels. As I mentioned before I am not too bad a chauffeur. And I can unerringly find a Starbuck's.
