Dear fellow camera collectors, I went to work to the company headquarters. I had to take the dog with me (he had to stay in the car for a couple of hours). So I decided to drive another 15 miles and arrived here: Well, it was pouring with rain, and it was 1000ft above the place I left my car. I had to hurry, since I left the car at 17:15, i.e. one hour until the break of dawn. It was pourring with rain, and I came back totally wet, even though I had an umbrella with me. OK, one should learn that an umbrella is useless against rain that impacts horizontally... A picture taken on summer can be found here: (it shows the position I took my pic on the very left hand side just inside a group of fir trees) de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Seealpsee.jpgSorry, my picture isn't a good one. But the weather was even worse than it might seem. Best regards Peter PS: on usual Februar days it is supposed to be covered by a thick layer of snow. PS2: taken with my Oly C8080WZ, auto mode, I needed to work fast, since I don't want the camera to become too wet.

Dear Sid,
I am glad You like the scene!
The picture did record what was there, more or less. The distant shoreline divides the picture into two halfs, and I doubt, that this is a perfect arrangement. I was however very uncomfortable with the weather (the rain came from the back, otherwise I wouldn't have the camera packed out at all). And this was the only reasonable point, to get a shot from.
I hate white skies. There are few exceptions. This is not.
But this is the current sight of the season here... and I am so eager to use my new toy (a 500c/m Hassie), but I won't waste a 6x6 slide on that weather. I wish we had snow as on the Lake Ontario.
Best regards Peter

Lovely photo Peter. The shoreline isn't important, the hill in the right foreground breaks it up beautifully. Well done!

Love the photo and you have far more perseverance than I do. I had flashes of some scenes from the Canadian Rockies before I realized where the photo was taken.
