As usual, you northerners have got the seasons all wrong - again! This seems to happen 4 times a year! Here is what our back garden is doing down in NZ. More cliché shots of Irises and Magnolias I'm afraid! The magnolia tree is right outside my camera workroom window. Inspiration. Picture taken at -1 stop and massaged slightly using Picasa's simple tuning tools An Aussie import. Not sure of its name, but that bud will soon become a magnificent head of flowers. The background is my cream coloured garage wall. I overexposed it to bleach out the distracting concrete pattern. No I didn't use an atomiser of water to 'enhance' the Iris. After a Southerly storm (cold) and a light frost, the morning dawned clear and Nor-west (warm). How would you like your cliché served? Well, I do like flowers. All images made on an Oly C-750 UZ, using either Aperture Priority or program. Mostly at the long end of the 300mm equiv zoom to blow out the background. Cropped using Picasa and tuned with Picasa's simple to use digital tools.

Michael,
Beauooootiful pictures. It's amazing what you folks can do while standing upside down.

Nice, Michael...I particularly like the first three, where the background texture and color help separate the flowers.....

Micheal
There is nothing cliche about beauty and you are making me envious for spring. The Iris are gorgeous.

Beat me to it, Mickey! I've never figured out why those folks over there don't just fall off the Earth.
