Christmas is approaching its commercial climax here in the south of the UK, so much so that it has nowadays eclipsed the real meaning of Christmas. I'm reminded of Tom Lehrer's only partly tongue in cheek parody: Christmas time is here, by golly, Disapproval would be folly. Deck the halls with hunks of holly, Fill the cup and don't say when. Kill the turkeys, ducks and chickens, Mix the punch, draaaag out the Dickens. Even though the prospect sickens, Brother, here we go again. . . . etc. Pause for a hollow Ho, Ho, Ho. PeterW

I like Jethro Tull's version of "God rest ye merry, gentlemen".

John: I like the punctuation much more than the usual "God rest ye, merry gentlemen". PeterW
