Shot on out patio. Nikon D300, 18-70-mm Nikkor (at 70mm), ISO 200 Looking out the front door. Four inches expected tonight. Unusual for our area. I'm gonna invite Al Gore over for Sunday dinner. This photo was shot with the D300s Vivid mode--put considerable more color in the trees.

Wayne,
I am convinced. Your D300 is really an excellent camera.
You might give Mr. Gore some iced tea to keep him cool. Belay that! Ice water is good enough.

Here's a shot I like. A skater had cleaned off some ice along the lake shore. A lab puppy wandered by and didn't know quite what to make of the skater.

Really nice pics, Wayne! I can see the D300 has put a charge into your photography (not to mention your bank statement ) Lovely cam. If you work with RAW images, you can squeeze out some really good B&W too, though it's never as easy with digital. Gene

One of the nice things about where I live is it doesn't snow much...well hardly ever. This storm started about 8 a.m. this morning. The weatherman had said earlier we might get some rain and snow later in the afternoon. Despite that I suspect he'll get a paycheck at the end of the month. Nikon D300, Nikkor 24mm f2.8 manual focus lens, ISO 200.

B-R-R-R-R!! When I was working there in Caldwell, I was driving a 1970 Montego with a high horsepower Cleveland and a rear end that weighed next to nothing. Fun times in the snow and ice 'til I filled the trunk with sandbags! Still miss that town! I truly enjoy your pix of the area. Roy

Roy:
Ya might not miss it today. 10 inches of snow at our house--the most since about 1986.
And it's still snowing!!!
