I own an obscure Rollei lens in 80mm f2.8. They produced it (recently) with a ltm threaded end to which they add a ltm to to M adapter so it could be mounted on their 35 rf or any other M mount camera. They also make a Nikon focus mount that allows me to take the lensunscrew it fro the ltm to M adapter, screw it into the Nikon focus mount, and mount it onto my F5 or F6. I have to use stop down metering but it works fine and even activates the focus confirmation light when I use it on the F6. Well, I've done a bunch or trading and will soon be in receipt of an ltm Elmar f4 90mm and a Hektor 135. Any predictions as to what will result when I mount them onto my F bodies via the Nikon focus mount? I'm woefully ignorant as to the physics of optics. The Rollei 80 works perfectly with the exception of causing a dim fiewfinder as the result of the stop down metering. I focus and compose wide open then stop down just before shooting. This item is so obscure that most folks don't believe me when I describe it. The only reference I can find to it on the internet is at B-H in their ranger finder lens for Rollei and the accessorios drop down. At least it was there a few months ago. I think the focus mount is made by the company that makes Horseman LF gear. I traded for it with an RFF'er last year and, up to that point, had never heard of the combo. I'll find out in a few weeks what it will produce but thought some of you might have a prediction.
