Missing from my M42 mount lenses was the CZJ 50mm Tessar. A recent auction on ebay for a Praktica Nova B included the Tessar and I won the set for a small amount as there was little interest from other bidders. These two pictures - both taken against the light - are from the first roll taken with the Tessar. I used a Ricoh Singlex-II camera and Arista Ultra-200 film developed in straight D-76 for 5 minutes at 68 degrees. Both pictures are shown full frame..... no cropping. While the hamburgers were being grilled, the grease caught on fire. I think the cook is saying "OK.... they wanted 'em well done and that's what they'll get!" Taken at 1/30th of a second & f/5.6. My neighbor had some fill dirt delivered and then tried to drive his Jeep down the spine of the pile. His Beagle "Willy" is wondering why it's parked there. IIRC, taken at 1/60th & f/8. IMO the Tessar has a well deserved reputation and is a true "classic". Walker

Walker, the tonality in these shots is fantastic. Sharp too but with a smooth rather than harsh feel. It's a classic all right!

I forgot to mention that little Willy the Beagle is kept in his yard by an "invisible fence" that his owner installed several weeks ago. Seems a woman just down the street complained that Willy was "picking" on her dog...... a Bulldog weighing in at 125 pounds!! Can you imagine such a thing? Walker
