I wasn't sure where to put this, but i guess it fits best here... Just wanted to share a picture of my new Cosina 107-SW with 15mm f/4.5. I got the lens saturday & have already shot 2 rolls that I hope to get developed tomorrow... I'll come back & post some shots if any are worthy! Peter

Got some pictures back today... I'll definitely have to get used to such a wide lens! Will post more in some of the photo threads... Peter

Whew, now *that's* wide!! Nice looking camera -- is it a predecessor to the Bessa L?

Nice looking camera and picture! I don't think I've ever seen (probably because I was not paying attention : a Cosina 107-SW before.

Looked it up Peter - Cosina 107-SW / Bessa L "wide angled camera". What's that all about? Surely the lens is wide angled, not the camera??
Come on how does it work? Your pictures are certainly incredibly undistorted for such a wide lens.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments... Before Cosina had the rights to use the Voigtlander name in some countries (US?) they branded their first Bessa L's as 107-SW. If you look at the first post in the thread you can see a picture of my camera... www.cameracollector.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=frills&action=display&thread=1152077887&page=1Absolutely no difference in the cameras besides the name on the top plate... You might also notice that my lens is branded Cosina, same deal. I am pretty thrilled with the quality of this 15mm lens... Some might say its a little slow at f/4.5, but weighing up the $$$ vs speed compared to the f/2.8 Zeiss, I'm very happy to make the compromise! Stephen Gandy has more info on the Bessa L & CV 15mm f/4.5 at: www.cameraquest.com/voigtbl.htmCheers! Peter

I've just come across your July, 2006, image of your Cosina 107-SW in a black case. I'm wondering if the case is a Voightlander or Cosina product/accessory and, more importantly, does it allow you to close the case around both the lens and viewfinder while they are attached, or around either? I'm looking for a case that would allow me to protect both the lens and finder while they are on the camera. Thanks in advance. Peedee

Phys',
Cool picture. I saw one shop in Singapore that had the Cosina labeled camera when I was there in 2001. I was more interested in the RF equipped Bessa R and wound up with one and the 25mm Skopar. Nice! Now interested in the newer Bessa R4 and 21mm lens.
Cyclops, That Cosina 107SW is basically your Cosina CT-1 with the mirror mechanism removed. The later Voigtlander Bessa models added rangfinder/viewfinder to the basic box.

Bessa L and Bessa R used the Leica screw mount. The Bessa R2 and later T, R3 and R4 models have Leica M mount.
They did revive the CT-1 camera as the Bessaflex with M-42 screw mount. I recall it came in two different stylings. The black version had styling cues from many 1970s era cameras. Look at it and you can see a bit of Nikon F and Canon F-1. The silver version resembled the Topcon RE Super.
