Amongst the "gems" of our collection we have a few "pointy Shooty" cameras. Although they have little aesthetic appeal and are not very interesting to use there is no doubt that they are very functional cameras and give good results with minimum effort. Here are a few that Jenny took with an rather ugly Konica with an exceptionally good lens; and a Boots camera. Street entertainer on a dismal day. A rather odd street charater on the same day. The canal lock at Bulbourne. The Bronica SLR is not as old as the bloke using it lol.

Interesting shots! I love the color satuaration in that Bulbourne canal lock shot...something about the colors on an overcast day that really appeals to me.
BTW -- was your subject as "unlevel" as your Bronica? Seems to fall away toward the right.....LOL!! ;D (Just teasing!)

Sometimes P&S cameras can really amaze me. My wife has a Yashica T4 that really puts out a top quality photo. I would not hesitate to carry it anywhere/anytime. Wait a minute, I guess that was what it was made for.

Not all P&S are created equal. Back in the late '90s we had a Minolta that never produced a sharp picture. Later I got a Nikon P&S that was in the medium price range. Didn't do any better than the Minolta.

One of my ambitions is to some day take a cruise on one of those beautiful narrow boats. I have quite a collection of information and cruise catalogues about the canal cruises. Sometimes circumstances transpire to thwart the best laid plans.
Longingly,

Jenny & Ernie
Love the canal shot. That was one of my ideas for the doors competition. We have a 'lay-up' stretch of the Leeds & Liverpool quite close to our house, so my plan was to take my RTL1000 down to grab some pictures of the beautifully intricately painted hatchway doors. Of course the problem was that Randy has no idea of timing for his competions. All the narrow boats were 'at-sea'. Not a single one put in while I still had film in the camera.

Really good shots. I had never seen the canal boats and did not know they existed. John, I can sympathize, shortly after the contest closed I entered a darkend barn and was struck by the light pattern from the open doorway. Oh well

Jenny and Ernie, these are really nice shots. I like the canal boats very much. My favs, though, are the first two B&W shots.

[img src="[/img]http://i95.photobucket.com "] i95.photobucket.com/albums/l126/chrisl091/canonmc.jpg My favourite P&S (well one of them) is my Canon MC.Bit like a Olympus XA in concept bit a bit bigger and a better viewfinder ie you don't have to fiddle with that soppy little lever on the front! If I can find the pics I took with it I'll post a couple.

Nice MC Crisy. Glad to see you mastered the photo insertion technique. It took me quite a few tries before I got it even nearly right. I look forward to seeing some of your work as well as more of your cameras.

8-)Curt I don't think mastered is quite the right term - It took quite some time and a good many rather coarse Anglo Saxon expletives before it actually appeared on screen! But thanks anyway. Don't hold your breath on the pics - my storage 'system' takes some looking thru!

Hi Chrisy, Don't worry, we're patient folk here and have plenty of time till you find your photos. My storage system at the moment is about a dozen photo albums, a 36 inch x 32 inch x 12 inch deep box full of photos in their original envelopes and 72 disks of pictures transferred to digital. Yes, it does take forever to find anything. Let me tell you about my system of drawers for filters, flashes, lens adapters and hoods, light meters, not to mention 4 green garbage bags full of camera cases. So much cr.... so little time, LOL.

Good shots! As I like to do "street" photography also, I really love the first two...expecially the 'strange' guy in the second shot.
That is the first photo of a canal boat that I have seen flower pots on top...really projects the aire of hominess.
