My first camera, in 1969, was an Agfa Isomat Rapid, identical to the one below. This is a 24 x 24 mm format camera, which takes film loaded in special "rapid" cassettes. The film is spooled between two cassettes in the camera. The lug on the cassette transfers the film speed to the camera's meter. Exposure is automatic. The original Agfa film was quite expensive, so I used to buy 36 exposure Kodak film, and load it into empty rapid cassettes. This got me interested in processing film, and led to me developing film, and later printing my own monochrome pictures. After a few months, I gave the Agfa to my girlfriend, and bought a Zenit 3m.
