Made a new friend in Japan the other day. He showed me a picture of his AnscoFlex II TLR camera. Shoots 127 film but the camera is cool. Has a light green body that just screams 1950s. Ended up going on Ebay and picking one up for $3 plus $7.95 postage. Probably won't shoot it but it should look great on display

Hi Wayne,
When you receive your Anscoflex II don't be surprised if the green is really grey. It is actually grey and silver. It uses 620 film. It has a built in close up lens and yellow filter ( The model I has no filter or close up lens. ) and has double exposure prevention. It came with a flash gun and well designed leather(ette?) everready case. I have two identical cameras but the flash reflectors are of different sizes. I bought them several years ago for nostalgia's sake because my father whose fingers were quite numb from diabetes found this an easy camera for him to manipulate. I believe it may have won some kind of design prize in its day. It was designed by Raymond Lowey. Its viewfinder is similar to the great English Ensign Ful-Vue but larger and with a built in hood. It is an elegant, well designed, box type camera.

Thanks for the info. I just realized it is 620--easier to respool 120 film than find 127. As I said, I probably won't shoot it anyway--just liked it's look.

Got the Anscoflex II today, complet with fitted case and manual. Guess I should have listed it under Plastic Fantastic as the camera is metal. Both the leather case and the camera ae a very light gray-green. Probably won't shoot it but it literallly screams 1950s. Pictures to come later.
