Well...I have made a decision on a rather lengthy consideration. I WAS going to post some pics of my den where I have my work station, display cases and pics on the walls. But...I am a neatnik, so they probably would not be appropriate amongst the majority here. Ya know...even among the neatness of all...there are times I still cannot immediately remember where something I want is. Ron Head Kalamazoo, MI AHHHHHHHHHHH please show us the way Oh enlightened one that we mere mortals may too strive for "Neatness" ;D

Ron H (kamera): We are definitely going to need your neatnik side to help us. LOL! ;D Even though I said I wouldn't...here's the mess I maintain: There are cameras and lenses buried in that pile of "stuff." All the cases stuffed under that work table (there are more in a closet on the other side of the room) are full of cameras and lenses, too! I also thought you would get a kick out my clock in this room:

You will have to excuse my little chuckle I get everytime I look at one of your pics posted here.
Not laughing at you guys, but they remind me of small backroom in a camera store where you can rummage and find all kind of neat things!
Mr. Herron...I love that clock. Where ever did you find it??
Mr. Brown...you have almost convinced me to post the views of my den.

Yes, Ron!
I'd feel at home in room like that. But ... er ... where's the computer? Perched on a pile of books somewhere?
Love the clock. Did you make the dial yourself? I see you took the picture at 2000.02.A0.8 - in a nineteen-hour day. Ah, hang on, I've got it. It's a STARDATE clock!

Peter & Ron H: ;D It looks like I would feel right at home in several of the dens I've seen here! The only problem would be finding things. In my own "mess" I know (generally speaking, of course) where just about everything is . . . can find most of it much faster than Mickey's 6-1/2 weeks! I found the shutter-speed-dial clock on eBay several years ago . . . just stumbled on it and said "gotta have it!" My wife thinks I'm crazy and is always asking me if I really know what time it says. I tried a variation of your comment once, and told her it was 1000:X -- give or take a few seconds. I think she was ready to have me committed. I'll post a picture of the computer side tonight, when I get home. It's every bit as organized as the rest of the room! LOL!

Well I mentioned once before that my beautiful lady wife had bought me a set of wickerwork drawers to contain my camera cr@p. She bought me a second (smaller) set because she realised that the first wasn't big enough.
My question now is the same as before - where am I going to put all the others ?......

Regarding the clock.... In a pub I once used to frequent, they had a clock with a backwards dial - a joke clock made as a talking point, You spent a couple of minutes working out that it was actually correct, then laughed it off.
Turned out that 'Ben', a local regular who was intellectually challenged (couldn't read. write or add 2 + 2), could read that clock perfectly - but not the regular clock behind the bar.
Must mean something, but I don't know what...

Well, I can find nothing wrong with it being 250:X:00 unless I have to be across town at 125:00:00 sharp! LOL! ;D

Peter, On the right side of the picture, in the middle of the stack is an old typewriter. What happens if you want to use it??? Do you just tug it loose and suffer the consequences of everything else collapsing, or would you unstack the top items to get to it? ? Actually, besides a goody pile in the back room of some store, these pics also remind me of the general customer area and repair station of the guy who lets me use his studio. The studio, by the way, is neat and orderly. PS...I did post some pics of my NEAT DEN under the "Show Off" section. Ron Head Kalamazoo, MI

Ron K, That's a 1913 Oliver, pensioned off a long time ago - I know I've been writing for quite a few years, but not quite THAT long . I picked it up because the mechanism intrigued me, like the 1900 Yost, and the early Underwood with a double keyboard, one for upper case and one for lower case and a built-in rotating type-cleaning brush, and an early 1930s Remington portable (luggable) where the type mechanism comes up on stilts, and ... Oh, heck. Here we go again! PeterW

By the way, here's the "computer side" as promised........ See, I told you it was every bit as neat as the rest of the room! ;D ----- and yes, John, those are soccer pennants on the wall, a soccer trophy on the bookcase, and a "Team Azzuri" poster (for one of Italy's fomer World Cup teams, for the uninitiated) with Roberto Baggio.

Curt, What a splendid collection! How do you cope with dust on your unenclosed shelves? I have draped clear, heavy gauge plastic sheets over my Ikea 'Billy' shelves and they help considerably. But they are so ugly. This is an example but I have rolled the sheets up out of the way. Mickey

Curt,
Cameras, cameras everywhere!!! 'Tis no small collection! How do you ever find the time to give each and every one the attention and affection it needs?
And did I see a pic of Laural and Hardy there!?
Mickey,
I agree that dust must be a real gremlin. That is why I keep (except for the two on tripods and the slide projector on top one case) all behind glass. It does rather limit available space for additional cameras though.
