This isn't really photo oriented but this is the place to deal with topics outside the normal themes.
We are in the process of remodeling a bathroom. Last night, in an attempt to help out the pros who will be doing the plumbing and wiring, I was tearing out some old studs (support boards). I had removed a couple of studs and laid them off to the side. Since they had framing nails protruding from them I should have either turned the boards over with the nail points down or removed the nails entirely--something I intended to do after I got one more stud loose.
So there I was, standing on the top step of a two-step ladder. reefing on a crowbar, tring to get that third board to come loose. Suddenly it did--all at once. I lost my balance and toppled backward off the ladder.
As the ladder was flying out from under my feet, I was thinking "Somewhere below me are two boards with some very sharp nails pointing upward. If I land on those nails they are going to go into some portion of my body at least 2 1/2 inches and that will not be pleasant."
So, in mid-fall I sort of threw myself off to the side, hopefully away from the nails. I accomplished my goal but in the process lost any hope of breaking my fall. I landed with a crash that brought my mate running from the far end of the house. I was trying to decide if the pain in my right leg was momentary or long term when she arrived on the scene and told me to quit "helping" before I killed myself.
Anyway, it was about noon today before my right leg loosened up to a point where I can move almost normally. And one arm, both shoulders and my left ankle don't feel that good.
On the positive side, I was pleased that I can still think and move fast enough to avoid being impaled on the nails and -- I am apparently still young enough I didn't break a hip!
The best part of all was that at mid morning, at work, My Nikon F arrived!!
So, all in all, things could have been worse.
