I really like shots like this Gene - odd angles, partial subjects - great.
Just the type that my wife says "What on earth do you want to take a photo of that for?"
You either know or you don't !! LOL

I like these close up detail shots. Always mean to try some myself but then in the field I completely forget. Good eye Gene.

John, Wayne, Curt, thanks! I don't take these kind of shots often enough, Curt. I too forget once I get out there.

I have enjoyed the pics of the old stations and equipment.
Here in the Kalamazoo area is the Jim Gilmore Car Museum and they have a reconstructed setup of an old Shell gas station. Neat, but not like if you came across it out and about.
SO's, unless into photography or the arts themselves, will never understand why we take pis of some things. Nor do a lot of people in general.
I remember one time in Chicago being on my knees taking a shot of a fire hydrant that had shadows across the rather delapidated sidewalk. People would come by and mumble...but one guy in particular put it more in context when he spoke outloud to his friend..."What is that a------ doing".
Shucks, man...I was just having fun!!

Ron, Rich, thanks. I didn't run into any of that Chicago hospitality while shooting this one, Ron Gene
