I've posted this elsewhere as well but I had to share this as I am personally blown away by how well my Sonnar 50/1.5 lens performs - considering the fact that it's from the mid-50'! Camera: Contax IIIa Lens: Sonnar 50/1.5

The F1.5 Sonnar is a remarkable lens. I took this shot two years ago with my Contax II and the second a few months ago. It's Sonnar was one of the first coated models to leave the factory--1937. I should shoot more with it.

Agree with you absolutely Wayne.
The 1.5 Sonnar on a Contax II is a formidable combination. I haven't used mine for a time, but on Friday I loaded it up with some Ilford B&W C41 film. Hope to get out this week and take some pics with it.

Those are beautiful, Rich. There's a lot to look at in those photos.
I like the smooth tonal range-- seems slightly compressed. Any tips on how to get that effect? Do you use a fliter? Is it just my imagination, or is there just the slightest hint of some warm green or pink tones?
It's obviously a great portrait lens, but do you also like to use elsewhere, for example outside on the street?

Rich some lovely photos. Your framing is very interesting, particularly with the first two.

Does the Canon 50/1.5 count?

Nice shots, all and especially using a 50mm. It can be quite difficult with that lens to get a proper perspective of a face without showing spoof...ie., enlarged nose...out of proportion areas.
For portraits, I use my Nikkor 105/2.8micro.
It is good to retain the skills we learned at the beginning of our photography quests...generally we all learned with a 50mm...congrats, guys.
