This shot could fall into the nostalgia classification, too. Picture, taken in 1972 is of the best dog we ever had. We got Candee at the animal shelter a few months after we were married in 1967 and she was a member of the family for 13 years. She always considered herself a lap dog and anytime my mate laid down on the couch the dog would jump up to have a conversation. As you can probably tell from the expression, she was almost too intelligent for her own good. Shot on Tri-X with a Nikon F. Almost certainly developed in D-76 1:1. Still miss that dog! Here's a shot in 1967 as a puppy, the day we brought her home.

That dog seems to be saying, "I love you".

What a nice looking dog Wayne. Looks to be at least part collie or border collie. Smartest of all dogs I'm told and by your shots I'd say that looks to be true. You just never forget a great pet.

We considered her a border collie although I think she was mainly "dog."

Wayne,
A beautiful shot of both your mate and the pet.
I would guess that what is in the dog's mind is..."I am about ready to lick your face from bottom to top, so get ready 'mommy'...".

Very nice shots. I would say she was border-colie cross. When I was a teen, some friends of ours had a border-collie. She had never left the suburbs where she was raised, yet when the chickens got out of their pen, she would round them up, herd them back into the pen and keep them there until someone went out and closed the gate. Just yesterday when I was at work, we came across a quite young border-colie who was very friendly and wanted to play. One thing that has to be kept in mind when someone wants to adopt a dog like this into the family, they are very active dogs and if their minds are not stimulated can get quite bored.
