I don't shoot a lot of black and white - despite a fridge full! - but it is good self-discipline when I do, since I am nudged away from my preocccupation with colour. These three (two very similar, but I couldn't decide!), just picked up, were taken with my Great Wall DF-2, APX 100, and sunny 16. The bench image was shot the same afternoon as the greengreen one I posted a while back in the Season Gallery; it's always interesting to me how totally different a scene can be in monochrome. Prints were scanned on a cheapo HP: these are nicer in real person!

Lynn, no problem, I have a cheapo HP also. These photos are very nice.

Hey Lynn, nice photos! I associate your work with colour but you do B&W well too. APX 100, sigh... what a nice film. I'm sad to see that one disappear.
Could you post a photo sometime of your Great Wall DF-2? I'm guessing from the name it's a Chinese-made TLR? Does it have a Bayonet-1 mount for filters? Such an interesting product name. I've only heard of the Seagull previously.
BTW, do you shoot more in 120 or in 135?

Gene: no sooner said than done! The Great Wall is a Chinese MF SLR with a waist-high finder - my husband brought it back for me from a holiday in China, where he bought it at a market in Beijing for about $30. It's admittedly not extremely sturdy (I recently bought a Bronica, and that is SOLID) but I adore it. It's quirky, but straightforward and intuitive, and I especially love the dreamlike results it gives wide-open. Most of the MF images on Two-Muses were taken with it. I probably shoot more 35mm than 120, but that's more a financial thing. On a day-out-with-cameras, though, I always have at least one, and more often two, MF cameras in my bag, and if I leave the GW at home, I always regret it before noon!

lynn: I really like those B&W - particularly the first and third ones...they have almost a dreamlike quality to them!

Wow Lynn! I never guessed MF SLR! It looks like more than $30 worth of fun!
