Saw these shopping carts in a river while on a walk. I have to wonder what the people throwing these carts in the river were thinking, if anything. Shot with a Nikon Fm2n/85 F1.8 on Kodak C41 B&W film. Bob

Nikon Bob,
What were they thinking!? Come on, now! They knew that Nikon Bob would be along and find it an interesting shot as well as a chance to point out the blight they were making!!!!!!!

Thanks guys for the kind words. I would never have taken the photo with colour film loaded and am not really sure why I took it at all or even why I sort of like it. Man, am I lost or just looking in all the wrong places for something to shoot.

That's a very nice shot Bob! A fairly common sight in the Cam. About 10 years ago the council had a free bikes scheme. They were painted green and the idea was that they were just left unlocked around town. Anybody could pick one up and bike somewhere, and just leave it. Of course, what actually happened... (a) the bike thieves from London came and loaded large numbers of green bikes into their vans, and (b) vandals threw the rest in the river. Naturally the scheme was abandoned Quite a lot of the bikes are still there, tend to find them when punting... What were they thinking indeed?

When I was stationed in Germany, one of the first things I noticed were the glass decorations on the outdoor lights inside the city. You see, anywhere I've lived here in the states, such decorations would last maybe a day or two until they were vandalized. People do weird things sometimes
