Thats a cool shot, great subject for B&W. Rick if you don't mind my asking, what f do you usually shoot your portraits at? I've been shooting them usually at f/8 for couples/groups, and occasionally f/5.6 on single-person portraits.

indoors with a flash or studio lights I try for 5.6-8 outdoors i usually use f4 or less to blur the bkgrnd. I do a lot at 2.8-1.8. This was f4

Thanks Rick. I shot this at f/4 to keep the background out, but as you can see dof was too shallow and lost focus on the apples in the back. Probably should have shot at about 5.6 or 8. Mamiya 1000 DTL w/mamiya/sekor 55mm lens

Nothing wrong with the apple image, just needed the right mood. I hope you do not mind A little saturation boost, a red filter, convert to B&W and sharpen
