I developed a test roll yesterday from my 'new' Fed-2. I get a big kick out of the Russian rangefinders and I like the lines on the Fed-2. Also like its very long rangefinder base -- makes for very accurate focus. All shots taken with a Jupiter 8 lens, another fav of mine. Neopan 400, Rodinal 1:50, scanned on a Minolta 5400 film scanner. Pedestrian Underpass (under the bridges over the Credit River) Lighthouse at Sunset (one of my frequently photo'd subjects) Park Lamp (a test of f/2 wide open) Train/Bus Terminal at Night The Fed-2 feels good in the hand, and it felt really good to get back into some B&W film after shooting a ton of digital! Nice shots Gene. I've gotta get out some of my FSU gear. Haven't shot with it in a long time.

No 1 - DOF, you know!
No 2 - Those boys aren't going to take that flag down are they? Superb
No 3 - Would have trouble selling it to the wife. Good sky.
No 4 - What a photograph! I may have to die unfulfilled!
Regards - John

Gene, I especially like the lamp. Those clouds are stunningly dramatic and the lamp itself is sharp, especially for a shot taken at f/2. Very nice.

Gene, you sure set the bar high buddy. Makes me want to get some FSU equipment down, blow off the dust and put 'em to use. Aren't those Jupiter lenses great?

John, Walker, Randy, Curt, thanks for the very kind words. Curt, I really do like the Jupiter lenses. I think of them as "poor people's Sonnars" There's something funky about shooting with FSU cams. They're unique -- unlike any other camera experience -- and inexpensive to play with. Gene

Is that the 50 or the 35? Both are great lenses. OOPs I see it was the 8.

Gene: Promise you won't tell any of my Mamiya why they are on the shelf for a while....after seeing these (I just looked again...for about the sixth time!) I simply MUST dust off my FEDs and ZORKIs and get out-and-about with them!
