If I interpret your comments correctly you are saying my current avatar is the "real" me. I agree.

Wayne - Sorry I missed you out before. Superb also, but as you people would say, Randy's covered all the bases. May as well close the board now Randy, because that's just it. But - you could have lost some of those bushes in the foreground. And maybe...... Regards - John You should have seen me hobbling with my cane way back into those bushes for that pic John. That bridge is how far away the road was. LOL My cane kept sinking into the mud.

Beautiful work in this thread. Water is one of my main subjects, living close by a harbour. Here's one from last week in 'tin type' representation. This is one of the effects of a product I'm test driving called Nik Silver Efex Pro -- a B&W conversion plugin for Photoshop. Taken with a pocket digital: Canon SD800 IS Gene

Gene,
A wonderful shot. I am impressed by the detail in the deep shadows.

SidW,
Your 'after the thaw' has a wonderful haunting quality. Is the ice floating on the water's surface or suspended in the air?

Thank you both.
Mickey, you opened my eyes. There's an optical illusion there.

I hope this fits in with the Water theme. Perhaps it should be in Sculptures. Last night some witless wit dumped detergent into a fountain resulting in this. I don't think it caused any damage and people kept coming up and touching it and giggling. Mickey
