Here are some shots I took of the lunar eclipse 27/28 August 2007. I used my Pentak K100D and a Tamron 80<200 zoom lens at 200mm. Lens was set at infinity. Camera set to manual focus. Slik 333 tripod with Slik Single Action Panhead. I used a home made remote release to avoid shaking the set-up. I am not thrilled with the results, my first attempt at this kind of photography. Hopefully, with some criticism from The CC members I'll do better at the next eclipse. Mickey Shortly after the beginning. At this time the sun was beggining to rise and light clouds moved in. A few minutes later my subject vanished.

Rick, What a wonderful, spectacular series of pictures. Surely the photographer is an astronomer. He/she seems to have known exactly where the eclipse would start and end. There are so many questions I would like to ask him/her. Thank you.
Ron, Thanks. I am in no position to acquire a battery of gear so, like most of us, I'll have to make do. Do you suppose if I had been sitting in that Mitsubishi I might have done a little better? Perhaps for the next eclipse............. vroooommm.
