They sure look nice, Tommy. As I said on Nelson, you're living up to your name!
My only Minolta is an Autocord TLR. Does that qualify me for membership to the Minolta club?
Oh, and my scanner is a Minolta. The 5400, just before the merger with Konica, just before the merger with Sony...

Hey Gene, thanks!! Yes, if you have one Minolta, you qualify for the club.....and having an Autocord TLR moves you right up the club ladder too. Those are real collectibles!

It's a very good TLR and I got one that had just been CLA'd so it should be to go for years. I should add that my very first 'good' camera was a Minolta HiMatic 7 I bought in the early to mid 60's -- when they were new, not collectibles! :-) Gene

Tommy,
sorry for the verdict: Your exposure to M has resulted in an irreversible syndrome. On the other hand: You are not subject to the worst from of Rokkor-mania. Believe me I can tell from that ;-) .
Best regards Peter
PS: Monday evening in the German bay-of-evil: an irresistible beautiful MC Fisheye Rokkor
4/7.5, i.e. a circular fisheye, went up to skyrocketing 1.014 €. That's more than 1.5 k$. I decided to bid up to 300 €. :-( The bad thing about that: a circular fisheye is not far from being useless - it is just a matter of collecting.
PS2: oh, yes, I feel the lust for an Autocord...

Peter, thank you! I know I have that irreversible syndrome called Minoltamania. It all happened years ago when I went to an Estate Sale and bought that XG-1, the 50mm Rokkor lens and a 135mm Soligor lens for $35. Then I got addicted to the Bay of E(vil)!!
I agree about the fisheyes....not far from being useless. I guess you'll just have to continue to work with your Shift Lens. I'm always on the lookout for a Minolta Autocord too!
Looking forward to more pics from you Peter.

I have one or two Minoltas myself so guess I qualify as a Minolta (as well as several other kind) nut too. Minolta Autocord, Semi Minolta, Minolta 16 x2, several Himatics, a few SRT series, XG series, XA-7, SR-1, SR-7, as well as a couple Maxxums, early Minolta RF's and a couple Minolta AF's and AF-2's.

Wayne and Just Curt, I'm glad I'm not the only nut around here......not that I ever thought that way to begin with but, you know.......

Tommy -- You can tell your wife that any obsession you have is minimal. I have an SR1, SR7, SRT 101, SRT 102, (2 - one chrome, one black), SRT200, SRT 202 (one chrome, one black), XD5 (2), XD11 (3 - one chrome, two black), X570, XK (not operating), 7000 (2), Minolta Dimage A1, Minolta Dimage A2, and this does not include the 110s, including two Mark IIs, or the 16mm's, of which I have several. Of course one has to have the lenses, flashes, etc. to match.
So you are the image of complete sanity.

minoltaman, the scariest part and the proof of your minolta-mania is the variety of minolta-brand flashes you proudly display!!

Tommy, I have no objections against full frame fisheyes. You know I got at least two good images from it. But I can keep my Minoltamania under minimal control, i.e. I realize that a circular fisheye does comaratively more harm to my bank account than it would give me worthwhile images. My current collection of Minolta cameras is 2 SR-T 101, 2 SR-T 303 (one dysfunctional), 1 XE-1, 3 XD-7, 2 X-500, 4 X-700 (two of them bound to the bay of evil). As I only got four other cameras (two 500c/m, 1 digital P&S, 1 4x5") I think, my collection is under control - as far as cameras are concerned. The big issue however is this: www.serbe.ch/~peter/pics2/rokkore.JPGcaveat: the file is 3.6MB - but at least one can identify the goodies. At least when one knows them ;-) Needless to say, the image is from last summer. I had planned to bring down the number to 50 - I sold about ten lenses - and acquired, maybe thirty (the 16mm fisheye being one of them). :-( So the least thing one could say, is that I got a rough overview on the Rokkor range of lenses Best regards Peter PS:er, forgot two XG-1...

Randy, looks like the the start of really good website. As well as the strep throat bug you were obviously bitten by the Minolta Collecting bug a long time ago - and antibiotics are no good at all at getting rid of it, or so they tell me. So far I've managed to avoid getting bitten by the Japanese camera collecting bug of any variety - well, except of course Canons PeterW
