Whilst Joan was in hospital, I had to kill a lot of time before being allowed in at 4pm - so I spent it taking pictures. I thought I'd select (out of sheer wickedness) a few crops to challenge your intellects! 1. 2. 3. 4. Paul

Hey Paul,
I love this game but it is a trifle too easy.
1. Mechanical chicken laying her egg. It is not quite perfected yet. It is okay with fried, scrambled or boiled but still needs more practice with poached. But then, so do most people. 2. Upside down photo of a drop of water. Too obvious. 3. Propane operated TV (Telly) showing a documentary af the very rare Volcano Vireo looking for a nesting site. 4. Popcorn tree in blossom. As soon as they all turn white they will drop off.

Let's be serious, Mickey!
1. This is easy. It's a modern art representation of a moon-faced American baseball catcher.
2. No problem here either. It's Gypsy Rose Lee's original crystal ball. However, as I'm not a soothsayer I have no idea what the swirling sheets in the image foretell.
3. Got to admit this had me puzzled for a time. Then the museum background gave me the clue. It's a Victorian gas-powered retro-time-image machine sending a beam out into space at warp 10 to the power of a few million to capture and bring back the long-departed image of a sparrow perched high above the Great Fire of London in 1666 waiting for the flames to die down.
4. Very cunning. Local knowledge is needed to get this. It is of course the hat decorations worn by traditional Welsh longbowmen in their summer Cardiff parade. Unfortunately the leeks were still in the flowering stage this year because of the very poor spring and early summer.
