I have it in my hot little hand! Film at 11 or whenever the battery finishes charging. --------------- Everyone on this forum have been through in many times, I'm sure. You order a new piece of gear, or win it in an auction. But then you have to wait for the new acquisition to arrive. And time seems to slow down--to almost stand still. I ordered the camera last Thursday and it is supposed to be here next Thursday. UPS tracking says it's in Chicago right now. But it arrived there from New York on Saturday. Why hasn't it left? Maybe it has been misplaced! Maybe it has been stolen!!!. Will Thursday ever come? Actually this shouldn't bee such a big deal. A few years back I was collecting Russian gear. Usually it took several weeks for a package to arrive from the Ukraine. It fact, I'm still waiting for a Zorki 1 that was supposedly shipped from Siberia in February 2002. I'm beginning to thing it may not show up. ----- Meanwhile, tick tock....tick tock.......

Wayne, I know the feeling well and empathize with you fully. While I haven't ordered or won much on ebay lately, I can't count the times I've sat at my computer and looked out of the window to my mail box and driveway, listening for the sounds of the mail truck or UPS or FedEx truck.
I hope your package grows wings and it's there before Thursday!

Nope. It has been my experience when UPS says something will be delivered on Thursday, it's delivered on Thursday--even if it has been at the local UPS office for two days!

Wayne
I know what you mean......been there so many times for cameras...for vintage audio stuff.....even for firearms (even though that has to get shipped to my FFL holder)...but still the WAIT....lol. I have gotten pretty good at just training myself to forget it is coming...wipe it out of my mind...then I am surprised when it shows up! ;D

Wayne, your Zorki 1 remark gave me a chuckle.. Michael: I'm still trying to find the humor in it. That was the first and last time I dealt with a Siberian seller. You don't see many and there's a reason. The government there makes it almost impossible for Siberians to ship items out of the region. There's a lot of red tape and corruption there.

That's awful news and you have my empathy. Lets hope that the car carrying your package didn't leave the tracks and is hooked to another engine when the way is clear. Crossing my fingers for you!

It wouldn't be so bad except we are expecting a new grandaughter any day and I was hoping the D300 would beat her here..
What's disgusting is the package sat in Chicago for over two days because the store sent it seven-day delivery and I guess UPS figured there was no need to get it here early . Seems to me you would get the package to a depot near it's destination asap so if a FREAKIN' TRAIN did derail there would be more time to deal with it.

Update:
36 hours after UPS reported my package's delivery time was "excepted" because of a train derailment, they still couldn't tell me where the package was or its condition. I contacted the shipper in New York by emal and almost immediately on the UPS site the message was posted, "THE SHIPPER HAS REQUESTED A DELIVERY INTERCEPT FOR THIS PACKAGE / RETURN TO SENDER PENDING." Haven't heard any more specific from the shipper but I suspect they are just going to recall that camera and send me another (hopefully they have one in stock). Of course it could be the worst of all worlds. Last night someone from UPS told me the package could still be in transit, scheduled for delivery today and somehow didn't get scanned. If that's the case the driver could be pulling up in fron of our house and get a message not to deliver the package. That really would upset me. I'm not good at dealing with this sort of aggravation.
