It's ironic, I had an old SEARS AUTO/TLS EE camera in a box full of camera parts that I bought, and it sat in the box for a few years looking sad with a bunch of it's parts missing. The shutter was froze up, advance lever setup was missing, self timer lever missing, and not too many scratches. I picked it up the other day, and smacked it and the shutter snapped. I put a spare PX-625A battery in it and the meter worked! I advanced the shutter with a pair of needle nose pliers and it worked again! I went down through all the shutter speeds and they all worked right down to B. I found another advance lever in the box but I needed something to fasten it in with, but nothing worked. I found an old flat washer, filed a slot into it so it would go down over the advance post and then machined it down to the same size as the parts box advance lever, and put it in with a screw....and it worked! I now have an old SEARS/RICOH in black that works. It's made up of parts from other cameras..."it is alive!" "it worked" "bbwwahh ha ha" !!! I the evil SLR Doctor have in my dark chambers created...BLACKENSTEIN AUTO EE!!! "Igor, get me that old film from the laboritory cooler." "yesss, Master"

Great work Randy. A man after my own heart. I also have a large box of bits and pieces that 'might come in useful one day' Every so seldom I dig out another box containing the bits of two old Exaktas and try to get a bit more assembled. So far I've got the wind-on side of one chassis working OK. Then I pick up an old junker somewhere that's got just the part I need for a different restoration project, and the Exakta box gets put away again. One day ... Peter W

Yes, I'd like to have an Exakta, I've only seen them in pictures.

Randy, I have four Ricoh Singlex cameras. Two are marked as the TLS Sears models. One of the Sears cameras is missing the self-timer lever but otherwise ALL of them work perfectly. They are a much under rated camera and solid as a rock...... heavy as a rock too! IMO, you'll find your Ricoh to be a fine camera and you'll be impressed!
The only odd thing I've noticed is that all of the Rikenon 55mm f/1.4 lenses on my cameras came with a "ding" in the filter ring. For all of them to be that way, I find unusual.

No ding in mine, it is also the EE lens with the extra lever on the back.

I've got a carton full on Olympus OM10s in various states on completness and non functioning. Anyone who wants one for $10 and postage just email me.... They should make good education material if nothing else. Even those little screws are worth money! I got them cheap and plan to strip one for it's lens flange and hot shoe, prism, screen and eyepiece for another project or 2.
