Today was my now 13-year-old's birthday so we drove over to Long Beach so he could go to "Fun Land" and play archade games. As usual, while he was spending his birthday $$ I walked around to the local shops and picked up a pretty decent Mamiya 528 AL w/a few goodies. It works great (so far) but haven't checked the meter yet with a good battery. It also included 2 screw-on lens attachments (its a fixed lens), one wide-angle and one telephoto. All in great shape for $12. I had it professionally inspected.... professionally tested.... and also got this Polaroid Land cam for $4

Your tech man seems to know his stuff. That little tripod looks interesting.

That Mamiya outfit looks brand new and with a nice assortment of items. Ah...did you really want it or are you trying to impress Mr. Herron....... ?.......!!!!!!!.......LOL...!! The cute lil' guy is actually handling the camera like he knows his business. Does he shoot at all?? Ron Head Kalamazoo, MI

And your tech guy looks like he's pretty intense with that inspection! ;D

Steve, nice buy for $12. Kudos for starting your tech inspector out early with 35 mm film equipment. Hope he has a blast. Looks like he's already serious.

Yes, my private tech shown here tends to be on the expensive side, but he's always eager to help so I keep him on the payroll I had one of these little tripods before and like them better the the more expensive mini tripods. The one I had like it, I got at Kmart many years ago. The legs are attached to the bottom cap. You just unscrew it, fold out the legs and put the cap back on and it's ready. I have a more expensive mini pod that has the telescopic legs. It's really a pain so it rarely gets used. My wife lets him run around occasionally with her Digi Rebel so he gets some interesting shots. Mostly he likes to chase the cat with it. (The flash scares the kitty)

When I shoot pictures of our granddaughter she always comes over and wants to see the results. I have to remind her that most of grandpa's cameras don't have screens to view the picture and she'll have to wait until the film is developed.

I would have spent $12 just for the tripod!
I also have a little friend (3 yrs) who likes to check out cameras, but he prefers taking them apart. He did help me fold up my 4x5 field camera yesterday. I forgot how to do it! (^U^)
