And a great time was had by all. There is nothing like the sensation of mud oozing between one's toes.
It sure beats soccer riots.

Thanks to everyone who has viewed and commented on the photographs. Looking at them on a different monitor shows them to be darker than I would like so I may need to adjust the brightness of my screen at home. Does anyone else think they are too dark?

Hi Walker,
They look fine on my monitor; black blacks, white whites and a full range of greys in between.
If anything was going to show up as too dark I think it would probably have been the last shot of the old desk with its lovely vintage telegraphy and telephone equipment, but the detail is perfect, the window isn't burnt out, and I can see shadow detail under the desk - and it's very sharp for a 1/15 sec hand-held shot. If I'd been asked to guess I would have gone for about 1/250th. f/4 was well chosen to give you adequate DOF. Well taken!

The monitor at work is probably set to be darker than it should be but four people use it so I hesitate to change anything. I was pleasantly surprised that the desk and other items turned out as nicely as they did. I wasn't sure that I could hold the camera steady enough for a shot at 1/15th but it was either that or forget it altogether. They don't open the Depot often so I took a chance. Walker

Ron (kamera): The guys all look like the scores of soccer players I've watched over the years........but I suppose I could be talked into watching the young ladies wrestle in the mud for a while! LOL!!! ;D

LOL!!! ;D Young people of all ages were having a good time from what I saw. I missed the lawnmower races but it was a very warm day so I didn't get around as much as I'd have liked to. I think there were at least five or six teams that played mud volleyball. The car clubs have a get-together in Byron every now and then on a Saturday and I'd like to get some pictures of their restored oldies. I'll catch them one of these days. It's getting too darn hot to do much outside now and I have to be careful of my time in the sun. Meds and all that. Walker

Hi Walker, I'd settle for it getting a bit warmer out, but I'm not great in too much sun or heat either. Not due to meds just cause I'm too durn fat and too fair skinned. Look a lot like a radish in about an hour on a sunny day.

Ron Herron - The lady mud wrestling is fine to watch, but the grunting and swearing gets you down after a while...
Great pictures Walker - thanks for these!!

John, thank you. I only wish there were more events locally to be photographed. One man with a large DSLR with lots of bells and whistles asked me who I was taking pictures for. When I told him they were for me he nodded but when I said I was shooting film he just sort of looked at me as if I were mad. JPC, I take Methotrexate for arthritis. It's a mild form of chemotherapy so I can't drink alcohol or be exposed to the sun for long periods of time. I don't mind avoiding the sun but darn I'd like a cold beer sometimes! Walker

Hi Walker, I understand your situation. I take Percocet for my knees when they're bad (should be getting my knee scoped next week so I'll be out of commission for a few days) and it's another you don't really want to mix with beer. Although man can only live on water for so long, LOL.
