Took this just outside my front door. I live under the pattern for the local airport. Taken with my 202, with a Viv/Tokina 70-210 Series 1 and the 2X Soligor converter with the removable optical group, Fuji Superia 400. Cropped The quality of this lens combination amazes me every time I use it. Roy

Yep, handheld and panning! When he comes over my house, he's at about 1,000 ft and around 160 kts. They shake the windows! Roy

Roy good job panning and the lens held up it's end of the bargain too. You got to love the old Herc, a steady old workhorse and pretty graceful too.

Great panning shot! As we all know, panning is very difficult but you got the plane in perfect focus. Great job.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah the Herc is an amazing bird. Nothing else in the inventory is so versatile and rugged. This Herc is quite often positioned here in Chico. When the pattern is running the other way, and they come over on the climb out, that is when they are really loud!. Call me weird, but I love it! Roy

Roy
The smoothest landing I have ever experienced was on a Herc. The young pilot put her down at CFB Namao and I didn't know we were on the ground until we taxied over some cracks in the runway.

Obviously not an assault landing with full brakes and full reverse pitch on the props ;D! Don't know how those airframes take that stress! Roy
