Just got back the first roll from my "new" Fujica. As can be seen from the pix, it needs seals, and some shutter work, I think. Each frame has a very light strip at the right edge. Any ideas? Not impressed at all with the Fujinon f2.2 55mm. This is the best shot I got with it, and it's ---- yucky! The meter is so twitchy with this lens, that exposure is a guesstimate. Switched to a 55mm Takumar SMC f1.8, and the meter settled right down, and the results were much better. Tak wide open--exposure right off the on board meter Vivitar/Kiron 85-205 @ 205mm Cropped--I think this is the best shot I've gotten of my Rottie--Deliberate over-exposure of the foreground to get her black coat light leak All in all, a worthwhile addition to my bunch of cameras. With a little work, it will be a very useful camera. Roy

Roy,
I have a ST-705 that gives the same band at the right side of the picture. The closing curtain is either bouncing back or not closing all the way. That indicates a problem with the curtain brake. I haven't found instructions on getting the top cover off yet so haven't investigated further.

Thanks for the suggestion, Bill. I also found an area on the hinge end of the film door where it looks like a seal is supposed to be. There's nothing there but little bits of residue. Will have to research that one, but it doesn't look like it is in right position to cause the strip on each frame. I think you nailed it on the brake. Now to figure out how to open the little sucker without destroying it! Roy

Roy -- Would you like the original manual for your camera? I bought a large lot of assorted manuals from KEH thinking I might list them on eBay, but haven't gotten around to it. It is yours for the asking. If so, just tell me where to send it. Dave
