I was testing out my new Olympus OM-2n & T-32 flash. The slide copier is solid black & the cable box is gray. What are these spots? Some of the other similar shots are ok with no spots. Any ideas? Craig

Craig,
How about tiny reflections from the crackle finish and/or just plain dust. ----or gremlins.

I think Mickey is right on about the crackle finish and the gremlins may be dust spots on the cable box. I think a flash tends to really show those dust bunnies.

Yes, I took a closer look at the slide copier. It does have a crinkle finish but it's not as pronounced as the picture shows.

I back the others, flash does create numerous highlights from any uneven surface wherever the angle of reflection is rught.

Yeah, but what about all the speckling visible on gray cable box? Looks like dust(?)
