Randy, that is the 58/1.2. It is a big can of soup, but very nice. I have a deep hood that I use with it, she produces some nice smooth images. I believe the MC 58/1.2 was introduced with the SRT 101 and originally only sold as matching kits. I found mine for a very favorable price this past summer. It is my favorite Minolta lens at this point.

Rover,
What do you call a "favorable" price on your 58/1.2?? I see them going for anywhere from $225 to $350 now.
My brother-in-law and I both bought our 101's at the same time...I got the 58/1.4 and he got the 58/1.2 for $60 more if I remember correctly. I kick myself all the time that I did not get the 1.2!
You can get a good 1.4 for around $30-$35 today.

Ron, I don't know why it was priced like this, but I paid only $112 for the 58/1.2. The focus ring shows some use, but not abuse, no nicks or anything, and the glass is perfect. I bought it from Igor's Camera Exchange (http://www.igorcamera.com/). I check in with him regularly because I have found that he occasionally has these unexplained deals. I just look through his inventory and every so often I spot a price that is really excellent.

Rover,
You did get a nice price then. Gotta question for ya...have you actually read all those books I see in the background?

This may be a statement about my life. I went back up and looked at the photos, yes, I have read all those books.
If you are interested in Canon RF cameras, Dechert's book is a gem and Ivor Matanle's Classic Cameras and Classic SLRs are great books for his words and photographs.
